British Gas has put
together a 1,000-strong
business customer
panel aimed at giving
firms a voice on
energy issues. The
panel will be open to
all firms, whether or
not they are British
Gas customers.

It comes amid growing
anger about the
cost of energy and the
profits enjoyed by the
‘Big Six’ providers.

Firms have expressed
concerns about transparency
of pricing, the
renewal process and
bill accuracy. As part
of the panel, British
Gas will hold quarterly
forums on key topics
affecting firms and
will look to develop
products and services
that meet their needs.

It will also create a
‘core panel’ of between
ten and 20 members
who will visit the British
Gas operations centre
and give feedback
to the energy giant.

British Gas will also
introduce ‘twist’ visits,
where directors will
visit panellists’ businesses
to learn how to
improve service.

Kanat Emiroglu,
managing director of
British Gas Business,
says: ‘We know
businesses are under
real pressure at the
moment. The panel
will be a great way for
us to get an even better
understanding of
our customers and
their concerns.’
